The Christmas Puppy
Wow, It was incredible. We used a box and cut the bottom out. Then we wrapped the box and put a big bow on it. Just before the boys came downstairs we placed the box on top of the dog. They didn't notice it at first until the box started whining. They got curious and started unwrapping it. During the chaos of getting it open, they knocked it over and out popped the dog. They were in shock. On Friday night, my oldest was in tears begging me for a dog while I was explaining that we could not get one right now because the babies were still in diapers and it would just be too much. I probably have the only 10-year old on the planet that still believes in Santa Claus and I am fine with that :).
"Rex" has made a wonderful addition to the Sponge family and has taken a keen liking to my oldest son. I am sure they will be life long friends. I am not sure where the boys picked out the name "Rex", but it is what it is (Mrs. Sponge and I were pulling for "Jake" or "Murphy", but we lost out). I took the boys to PetSmart last night and we had the official name tag engraved which he is now wearing proudly on his collar.
Leash Training starts tonight!

Very cool. I can just imagine how excited they were.
This is the first year my son has really understood the concept of Santa Claus and he is 5 so I'm hoping I can get a good 5 more years out of it, but I doubt it. There's something special about that.
Hope you had a good one...and lets get a poker post soon!
