Poker Yay! BSOD Boo!

Relief at last. I finally had a winning session last night, up $30 on the $1/$2 limit tables. I would have played longer but that annoying BSOD hit me again at about 60 hands into it.

BSOD details:

I found many references to the stop code 0x0000001D, but none that matched the 0x0870CA78 parameter. The overwhelming majorty of fixes included RAM replacement for the 1D stop error, but I ran Diagnostics over night and found no problems witht the memory. I called DELL support this morning. Unfortunately they did not have a solution either, so we did the following:
  1. Boot to safe mode
  2. Open Device Manager and Uninstall the PCI Bus Driver
  3. Reboot to normal mode - Windows will try to reinstall as many drivers as it can automatically
  4. After it installs as many drivers as it can, reboot again.
  5. Again, windows will continue to install drivers.
  6. Once it is finished loading drivers for the second time, open Device Manager and look for any devices with "!" "?" or red "X's" next to them. Manually load the reaming drivers. Note: for DELL machines you can usually download a single file that contains all of the drivers for your particular model, for me it was found on the download page under System Configuration and Utilities, I downloaded a file called "DELL Notebook System Software" and installed that.
  7. Manually install any remaining drivers
  8. Wait and see if it works

Note: After reinstalling drivers, you will need to reconfigured some settings like your wireless keys.
